Marco Storari

Squad number: 32

Marco Storari, born in Pisa on the 7th January 1977, is a goalkeeper who had various experiences before joining Juventus. Brought up with Ladispoli, he joined Perugia in 1995 and after Montevarchi in 1998. His first great satisfaction came while wearing the Ancora jersey during the 1999-2000 season, when he took part in the season which ended with promotion to the Serie B. After a short stay at Napoli, he made another step ahead by moving to the Serie A with Messina in 2003-04. In the following season he was determinant for the splendid season by the Sicilians who ended the championship in 7th place.

After a number of years with the giallorossi, during the Winter session of the transfer market in 2007, Storari joined Milan with which team he signed a contract until 2010. However, he made very few appearances with the rossoneri. The goalkeeper decided to try an experience abroad joining Levante in the Liga. In January 2008 he moved again: Milan transferred him to Allegri’s Cagliari with which team he managed a miraculous stay in the Serie A which was deemed impossible after a disastrous first round. His travelling did not come to an end: in 2008-9 the rossoneri sent him to Florence, however he did not manage to find any space due to Frey. This bring us to the last season, 2009-10, probably the best in his career. Storari started off as the first goalkeeper of Milan but lost his place after an injury in October. In January he was transferred again: Marco joined Del Neri’s Sampdoria and was to become one of the artifices of the conquest of the 4th place and qualification to the Champions League. The second round saw him as the first goalkeeper and a great protagonist in all matches, with one in particular being the match against Roma at the Olimpico, during which his miraculous saves proved to be decisive to deny Ranieri’s team the top spot. The blucerchiati would have liked to maintain the satisfactory relationship but Storari returned once again to Milan to then make the definite move to Juventus.
