Simone Pepe, born in Albiano Laziale on August the 30th in 1983, he arrives at Juventus in his full soccer maturity, after a career that saw him touching both extremes of our Peninsula.
External midfielder of great flexibility and dynamism, he is very fast and has a good nose for goal, coming from his career first phase, as a forwarder.
Grown up in Roma’s youth department, at the age of 18 he moves first to Lecco and then to Teramo, where, in C1, during season 2001/02, he collects 31 presences and 11 goals, causing to be called to Palermo, in Serie B. In Sicily he puts 19 presences together and a goal, and the following year he moves to Piacenza, again in B, where he scores 12 times playing 30 matches.
In season 2005/06 he goes back to Palermo, where he lives his first year in Serie A, under the guidance of Luigi Del Neri. In January he moves to Udinese, but he does not find much space there. Due to this fact, his decision to move to Cagliari for Championship 2006/07. The Trainer Giampaolo changes his position on the pitch and, as a former second forwarder, he becomes an external one. It’s a winning choice: Pepe collects 36 presences and three goals and the following season he goes back to.
In Udine, in the last three years, he sums 104 presences with 14 goals and conquers a place in the Italian National Team, (after having played many times in the Italian Young representatives) with which he makes his debut on the 11th of October 2008 in Sofia, for Bulgaria-Italy, match valid for World Championship qualifications, and ended 0-0. Now firmly entered into the Italian group, he left for South Africa with the National Team and just before leaving he put his signature on the agreement that will bind him to Juventus for the next four seasons.
