Zebina: «I am happy even for myself»

Jonathan Zebina scored a goal worthy of the best gaols table and this has helped the defender to fond some satisfaction after a hard couple of years characterised by a number of injuries and a lack of continuity in match practice.

This is the gist of the defender’s comments at the end of the match: «Miracles happen even at the Olimpico. I am happy even for myself. It was a very difficult couple of years and so I hope I manage to get some satisfaction because I think I deserve it too. I honestly know what I deserve and what I did not derserve in these last few years. It makes me feel a bit happier and this goal makes me look more positively to the future».

A comment about the return match: «The return match will be a hard one because an away goal leaves the match open and they are a team that will fight till the end. We must be very careful and avoid conceding a goal at the start of the match. We have improved and this gives us hope».

How much did Alberto Zaccheroni’s arrival help in the healing process?: «To say the truth in the first match the coach asked me not to go beyond the median line and this made me happy because I could concentrate on defending. I like this because I could then run when I have the opportunity. The coach spoke to me and noticed my defect and told me that when I improve this I can return to my levels. I am concentrating on doing this and hope to continue improving».
